All good things must come to an end. Although the funding for this project wrapped up a couple of years ago, we just put out the expected final publication on this project. It is a bit of a practitioner focused publication that summarizes much of the work that we have done and how it might help influence materials created for a class. We hope that you will find it useful.

The article is titled “Using Simulations and Screencasts in Online Preclass Activities to Support Student Building of Mental Models” and was published in Education Sciences  14, 2 (2024), 115; https://doi.org/10.3390/educsci14020115. Please note that it is published as open access so it should be widely accessible.

The article will also appear as part of the special issue by Education Sciences focused on Engaged Student Learning and Inclusive Teaching Practices in Higher Education Chemistry. We want to thank the editors of that issue for inviting us to submit to this special issue.
